Development of Nursing
Florence Nightingale
Florence Nightingale was a big help when it came to nursing. She helped Nursing become a respected occupation for women of her time. She started her interest by visiting London hospitals. She started to use a technique called statistical analysis in which she helped to prevent deaths in the Crimean War. She collected data in which she was able to use to help reform the hospitals and decrease deaths. This was a huge accomplishment because most people of her time did not know that there was a mathematical way to decrease deaths and help with sanitation. Florence started all of this by receiving an education and finding other nurses to work. Nightingales care for sanitation is still in existence today in many different hospitals. Overall Florence helped nursing become a profession women would strive for.
