Importance of Nursing
As many people know nursing is a very important profession to take on. In society nurses are always needed. This is why Florence Nightingale's accomplishments are so important. Florence rejected her parents beliefs of how a Victorian woman should live by taking on a profession that interested her. People will always be ill and injured which is why nursing is needed everywhere in the world. Now the germ theory is what many doctors and nurses live by. Even though Nightingale believed in the Miasma theory, her accomplishments with sanitation are not pushed aside. Sanitation is key when dealing with sick patients who have contagious diseases. Many methods Florence established are used today all around the world. Nursing is an important profession that Florence made women feel more comfortable about pursuing Florence helped to gain respect for a very important career.
